Does it make me neurotic if I admit I love looking at all the covers of the Neurotic Hitwoman series?

Does it make me neurotic if I admit I love looking at all the covers of the Neurotic Hitwoman series?

My writer pal, DB MNicol writes the Klondike Mysteries (set in Pennsylvania!)
When a retreat becomes a nightmare…
When Cherie Marshall catches her fiancé and best friend in a compromising position, she cancels her upcoming wedding and jumps at the chance to escape to quiet Klondike, Pennsylvania to care for her elderly aunt. She thought her biggest issue would be adapting to life in the middle of a National Forest, so very different from her upbringing in the deserts of Arizona.
But that was before she met State Trooper Fire Marshall Jamison “Jazz” Maddox at the scene of a mysterious fire. As they both become acquainted with the close-knit Klondike residents, things get complicated as Cherie and Jazz find themselves in the middle of a local crime wave where arson, kidnapping, embezzlement and a decades-old murder are just the tip of the iceberg.

There are currently three books available in the series. Check them out!
I must say I’m not a huge fan of eyeglasses. While I appreciate that they keep me from stumbling around blindly, they also complicate life.

I’ve been wearing glasses since first grade (not fun!) and I’ve got a pretty strong prescription.
If I’m going to be out, I prefer to wear my contact lenses because they afford me better peripheral vision and I can block out some of the bright Florida sun with sunglasses. Not to mention that stepping out of an air-conditioned car into Florida’s heat and humidity can make eyeglass lenses fog up.
But…I find it difficult to read and write while wearing them, despite having multi-focal contacts, so, when I’m working at home, I prefer to wear my glasses. (Honestly, if I’m reading a book or my Kindle I take off my glasses and just hold whatever I’m reading about three inches away from my face.)
Recently I switched to lenses that are supposed to filter the blue light of computer screens. In theory, this is supposed to help alleviate eye strain. I’m not sure if it’s not working or if I’m just tired, lol.
Books! Glorious books!
Someone recently asked me which of the books I’ve written is my favorite. An impossible question!!
Right now, since I’m excited to be working on it, my semi-secret PCM project (which will hopefully be out in June!) is my current favorite.
As for my published stories, THE HITWOMAN GETS LUCKY holds a special place in my heart.

Meet Maggie, the queen of misadventures, in this light-hearted novella.
Maggie Lee’s a lot of things:
The daughter of a mom in a mental institution and a dad serving time;
The niece of three meddling aunts;
The aunt (and now legal guardian) of her beloved niece, Katie;
The friend of a snarky lizard, a dyslexic Doberman, and a semi-psychic co-worker;
A contract killer.
But one thing she’d never thought she’d be is a thief.
That’s about to change as she heads to the casinos of Atlantic City to
help her sexy murder mentor, Patrick Mulligan, steal something from a professional thief.
Maggie’s never been lucky in love or money. Will this gamble pay off or will she lose her shirt, her heart or even her life?
This was my third entry in the CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN series, and the first I self-published.
If you’ve read any of my CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN or MATCHMAKER MYSTERIES then you already know (and probably love) Armani Vasquez.
Things to know about Armani
— She’s rocks some psychic juju with her Scrabble tiles
— She once had a traumatic accident involving a zamboni.

— She enjoys some REALLY weird (some might say disgusting) food combinations
— She is an amazing friend to Maggie Lee.
Things you might not know about Armani…
— She’s getting a love interest soon!

I’ve decided that the reason I’ve been having such trouble with the 20th CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN story is that I had too many fun ideas I wanted to cram into it. Unfortunately that meant I wasn’t giving any of them their due, so I’ve been on a slash-and-burn kick to pare things down to what is truly essential to the story.
Constraints don’t necessarily hinder creativity, they often enhance it. (at least for me)
Now it feels like I can finally move forward.
Oh and if you’ve been following along, here’s Day 4 of my #100HappyDays Challenge. Little gifts I received from two friends.

I’m writing and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting and rewriting a pivotal scene in the 20th story in the CONFESSIONS OF A SLIGHTLY NEUROTIC HITWOMAN series and I just cannot get it right.
The fact that I’m drinking too much coffee probably isn’t helping my writing process as much as I’d like to believe.
On the positive side, here’s Day 3 of my 100 Happy Days challenge….a friend just sent me the cutest socks. Obviously she knows me well, lol.

I had the pleasure of having brunch with my writer pal, Jennifer Hillier today.
Jenny and I got to talk about writing, life and, of course, murder.
Day 2 of 100 of my 100 Happy Days Challenge!

Check out the cover of Jenny’s latest release!

Ugh, I know, I’m terrible about blogging. Sorry!!!!
I decided to take on the 100 Happy Days Challenge, where I’ll try to share something that makes me happy every day.
Here’s DAY 1 of 100
Hiking through a nature preserve…despite the fact my shoes ended up covered in muck.
Spending time in nature helps to recharge my creative juices. (Coffee does this too, but fresh air does it without the jitters.)

Something else that’s making me happy is the work I’m doing on my secret PCM project. I’d been stuck on it for quite a while, but now I’m busy writing it.
After a long writing session my hands hurt so I like to indulge in a little self care.
I love the feel of this and it smells like marzipan…but doesn’t have the Valentine’s Day candy calories. 🙂

Do you have a self care treat you love?
